Who is Smånüts?

Smånüts is a mother-daughter team inspired by a Swedish grandmother and a grandfather who farmed walnuts. They are based in California’s agriculturally fertile Central Valley. 

Why Små?

Små, which translates to small in the Swedish language, is influenced by the times the daughter spent playing cribbage with her paternal grandmother, who often shared her fond memories of Swedish culture as they’d move pegs along the board. Små also represents both the mother’s and daughter’s desire to be a boutique brand offering unique, carefully selected walnut products.

Why nuts?

The other part of the brand name, 'nuts,' honors the legacy of the daughter's late grandfather — her mother's father — who farmed a variety of walnuts. The daughter and mother pour their hearts into bringing these beautiful, salubrious walnuts to you. After harvest, each batch is carefully picked and then either hand dipped in chocolate or rolled in their secret BBQ spice mix.

Why walnuts?

Although the grandfather farmed many different crops throughout his lifetime, the daughter and her mother knew there was something extra special about walnuts. As the first cultivated tree nut, dating back to 7000 B.C., walnuts are nothing new to civilization. The mother-daughter team isn’t new to walnuts either. But their family’s rich history in walnut farming, as the fifth and sixth generations, are what allow them to deliver you a walnut that you can trust has been grown and handled with care!
